10 months old!

Luke is 10 months old!
He's getting so big!

He's started to say a few words- "night night" and "no no."  He'll say "night night" sometimes when I'm putting him to bed and he's really tired.  It's the sweetest thing.  He also has started shaking his head "no."  He does this when he doesn't want something you're offering him, or when he's doing something he knows he shouldn't be doing.  Little stinker!!!

He's into everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!  The other day, I was talking to Josh on the phone and had to open the freezer for something.  I looked up two seconds later and Luke was eating a FROZEN TAQUITO!!!  Ha!  It was pretty funny.

He's also a music lover.  Anytime he hears music, he shakes his head from side to side and bounces up and down.  He gets so excited!!
Maybe we have another Hart musician!!?!

He has started sleeping through the night every now and then, from 6:30 to about 6 am.  I'm hoping he'll start to make it more of a habit, but he's been getting some teeth so I think those are waking him at night.
Speaking of teeth, he now has six and I think he's working on a few more.

He isn't walking yet, but cruises while holding on to the furniture and crawls at lightning speed.  We have to be on our toes at all times when he's awake!

We love our little guy so much and just can't believe how fast he is growing!

Here are his ten month pics.

Our 8 year old

These pictures of Blake weren't easy to obtain.  You see, Blake has an aversion to the camera.  Every time I start to take pictures he runs.
In order to get him to cooperate so I could take 8 year photos, I had to bribe him with ice cream...and lots of it.  What's a mom to do?!?
I'm hoping to find a better location than our backyard next time, but for now, here are Blake's eight year pictures.

8 years old!

Time to celebrate!

Blake turned 8 years old today.  My how time flies.
Josh and I were remembering this same day that took place in 2003 in Dallas, TX.  Blake took his sweet time joining us (he was 1 week late), but the day he arrived was well worth the wait.  He came into the world at 6:28 PM, and our lives have never been the same.  We have seen him grow from squirmy, sensitive, long-legged baby to talkative, inquisitive, even longer-legged boy.
His dreams are larger than life, and his master plan seems to oddly make sense: NFL player, Navy SEAL, then storm chaser.
Not a bad career path if you ask me.
He also plans to send his parents on a trip around the world with his NFL earnings.
We won't mind that a bit.

Blake's birthday was a great one.  He decided not to have a big party this year, but to have his cousin Thomas spend the night instead.  We started out yesterday evening with a dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

Of course we had to embarrass him with some "Happy Birthday" singing by the restaurant staff.  I think the ice cream made up for it!

There was more singing and candles when we got home, along with a birthday cheesecake- Blake's choice.

The cheesecake didn't last long!

Blake told us over and over again thank you for making his birthday so special.

I think we're the ones who should be thankful.
We were blessed with a wonderful little boy eight years ago!

Someone needs a haircut!

His hair is sooo long right now!  We're trying not to give him a haircut yet because, well, that just means he's growing up and we don't want him to grow up!

Tomorrow is Blake's birthday and we are livin' it up.  Cousin Thomas is staying with us tonight and there is a tent in our living room as we speak.  They're having lots of fun.
I'll be posting birthday pics soon.

Also, happy birthday to Tyson Ross Hart who was born today. He's our new nephew and cousin and we're so excited to have him join the family!

Fourth of July Fun!

Cousin Thomas came with us to the 4th of July parade.  The boys had so much fun!

Luke loved watching the marching band!

Luke's first Independence Day was so much fun!  The only thing he didn't get to see were the fireworks, because he was already asleep and we didn't have the heart to wake him.  Maybe next year!
