3 months, Yay!!

So, Luke Hart is now 3 months old.  What does that mean you ask?  Well, in our world it means very. little. sleep.  It seems baby brother is going through a growth spurt and eats almost every two hours, twenty four hours a day.  Needless to say, mom isn't getting much done these days.  Our little guy has also decided in the last month or so that he doesn't like to nap either.  We're talking 30 minutes at best, and 15 of those are spent trying to sneak him out of my arms and into bed without waking him!  I say all of this to explain my lack of blog posts.  One of these days I'm sure I'll be able to devote some time to blogging (or should I say one of these years?)  Until then, here are a few recent pics, with more three month pics to come.

Counting our Blessings

Luke is home and healing after a quick surgery on Friday, December 5th.  After a recurring infection on his bottom came back for the 3rd time, we were referred to a pediatric surgeon at Children's Hospital who immediately diagnosed the issue and quickly performed the surgery.  Now Luke is well on his way to being back to his old self.  Thanks to everyone for all your prayers as we took care of our baby boy!

Luke is Two Months Old!

My favorite place to be when Mom's holding me
Wow, how time flies!  I can't believe it has already been two months since we welcomed our baby boy into the world.  We've learned so much about him already!  He loves to snuggle, smile, coo and eat.  His favorite place to be is the changing table in his room, where he can look at all the different lights and watch the ceiling fan.  He always has a smile for the picture that Blake painted for him.  It hangs right above his dresser and he loves it!  If he's not eating or sleeping, he's usually in one of our arms looking out at the world.  He is such a precious little guy!

Halloween!

Halloween at the Hart house was a ton of fun!
Well, we didn't spend much of it at our house.  We headed over to the Moschak's to do some trick-or-treating.  Blake was Han Solo this year and Luke was, you guessed it, Yoda!  He wasn't extremely impressed with his get-up, but Blake had a great time as Han and we all enjoyed taking pics of the two of them!
Han and Yoda...notice that Han has already gotten into the chocolate!

Oh, come on guys...get me out of this thing!

Luke is one month old!

Happy one month birthday little guy!
Wow, the time has literally flown since Luke was born.  I can't believe that one month ago we first met our sweet little man.  At times it feels like it was yesterday and at times it feels like an eternity (that's usually when it's about 2am!)
We have been enjoying Luke so much and are getting to know him better every day.  Last week he began smiling at us and just today he started grinning all the time!
Today we got cupcakes for him and had a little "happy birthday" celebration complete with a candle and birthday song.  I think we enjoyed it a bit more than he did!

Awww mom, not another picture!

Singing to little guy

He's impressed.  Really.

OK, he's not really impressed, but it was fun!

I love my big brother
Luke's first bath!  Josh likes to do the bath exactly the way he was taught in the hospital.  I've already been reprimanded a few times for not doing it right!  Luke really likes having his hair washed, but definitely doesn't like being cold!   His first bath was a fun one for all of us, and we're getting better at it every time.
Oh yea, that feels nice daddy!

Wait, who signed me up for this?!?

Feeling much better now!

Introducing...

Joshua Luke Hart
Born September 19th, 2010 at 6:37 pm.
8 lbs 3 oz and 20 3/4 inches long!
Big brother's first chance to hold Luke
At the beginning of our stay at the hospital, we thought it would be any time now!
I woke up in labor about 2am Sunday morning.  By the time we got to the hospital about 8 am, the nurse and doctor both thought we would have a baby within the next few hours.  Things were progressing quickly!  But little Luke had other plans.  Instead, after 16 hours of labor, the doctors decided that, because Luke was face up, he just wasn't going to come out the "traditional" way.  Instead, we opted for a C-section and Luke was born at 6:37 that evening.  What a day it was!

Nice to meet you!
Hi mom and dad!
Meet your big brother!
I finally got to hold him!

We stayed a full four days in the hospital.  I wanted to take advantage of the care while I could and the nurses there were excellent.  Luke was a favorite of all the Lakeside staff.  One of the nursery nurses dubbed him the nursery "mascot" while another said that he was "the prettiest baby in the hospital."  I would have to agree.  Everyone was also impressed by his eating abilities.  I believe we might have a little chunk on our hands!
I'm having a bad hair day!

My official hospital picture!

Wow, what a journey it was!  We are so happy to finally have our precious son and baby brother home with us at last.  The last few weeks we have spent just getting to know each other and settling into our new life together.  I've been a little slow with updating so far, but I will be trying to post more often as things settle down around here!  Thanks to everyone for all your love and support.  We love you!
